Design is such a personal thing and requirements change so much from business to business, it is great to know that with the experience of having designed over 200 sites in Atlanta that we are certain to be able to produce the innovative designs to satisfy your needs.
Some clients want sites designed around a logo, others want it based on the look and feel of a brochure. Some want slick and quick, others want Flash. Some have reports as content, others have interactive videos. Whatever the requirements, we are the experts, we know what works best on the web, we will produce effective designs.
We have many factors to deal with in design including speed of download, different browsers, different PCs, different bandwidths, clear navigation, maximization for search engines and so on. We combine all of these with your requirements to produce the best results.
We prototype the site design and ensure full agreement of its format with the client. Access to the work-in-progress site is available to the client to view at all times. Your feedback and comments would be ongoing throughout the project lifecycle.
The most effective site should always consider the following criteria:
Web Site Navigation
How easy it is for a visitor to navigate your site is extremely important. If they can't find what they're looking for quickly and easily they're going to visit another site. Every site we create will have the minimum following navigation features:
Every web page will have a consistent theme giving your visitors visual clues that they're still visiting your site.
Every page will clearly state what area of the site your visitors are visiting.
We will work closely with you to organize your product(s) and or service(s) into appropriate categories to ensure that they are placed in the correct sections of your web site.
Web Page Optimization
Spend some time on the internet and you start to realize that there are many poorly designed web sites out there. It's easy to create a site with numerous graphics and animated logos. However, by doing so, you greatly add to the download time. Graphics and animated logos are important because they add character, personality and a theme to a web site. But they should be used sparingly. All graphics we add to a site are:
- Optimized to be the smallest byte size possible while still retaining their quality.
- Created using web safe colors.
Search Engine Optimization
One of the most important considerations when building a web site is optimizing your site for the various search engines. Every search engine ranks web pages differently. For some the page title is most important. For others it's Meta Tags or Key Words appearing in the first paragraph of the page. Every page we create will have the following:
- An appropriate page title.
- Key word Meta Tags.
- Description Meta Tags.
- Key words appropriately worked into the first paragraph of the text.
- No tiny text. Several search engines consider tiny text as an attempt to spam and will NOT index the web page.
- No invisible text. Several search engines consider invisible text as an attempt to spam and will NOT index the web page.
- All graphics will include key words in the Alt Text field. Several search engines take into consideration the Alt Text when indexing a site.
- All pages will include Comment Tags with prominent Key Words. Several search engines take into consideration the Comment Tag when indexing a site.
- All web page redirects will be done using Java Script. Several search engines consider Meta Refresh tags as an attempt to spam and will NOT index the web page.
- At least one navigational method on each page will be Text Links.
- Several search engines cannot spider navigational image map links.
- URL strings will contain relevant key words.
To help ensure that your web site is indexed by the top twelve major search engines we will manually submit your site. We then submit your site to directories and free listing opportunities.
Web Browser Considerations
The most frustrating aspect of web site design is designing for the various browsers and computer operating systems. A web page may look great and work flawlessly in Netscape Navigator but the same page may look and 'act' completely different in Internet Explorer. To help guard against these discrepancies we test your site with the following web browsers and operating systems:
- Internet Explorer for Windows and Macintosh
- Mozilla Firefox for Windows and Macintosh
- Netscape Navigator for Windows and Macintosh
- AOL for Windows and Macintosh
